Gartner Lists AWS 2019 leader on Cloud Infrastructure

The 2019 Magic Quadrant report named Amazon Web Services (AWS) as one of the top leading providers for cloud Infrastructure as a Services (IaaS).

“The market views both AWS and Microsoft as being general-purpose providers capable of supporting a broad range of workloads,” pulled from the Gartner 2019 report published last week. “Google is making steady progress in terms of enterprise adoption, but it remains in a distant third place in terms of overall annual revenue and interest among Gartner’s enterprise clients. All other vendors in this market are forced to focus on regional dominance or niche workloads given the momentum of AWS and Microsoft, and the scale at which they operate.”

Gartner listed AWS strengths as including:

  • Enterprises make larger annual financial commitments and deploy more mission-critical workloads on AWS than with any other hyper-scale provider.
  • AWS has a broader range of customer profiles, ranging from startups and small and midsize businesses (SMBs) to large enterprises, than any other provider in this market.
  • AWS is the most mature, enterprise-ready provider, with the strongest track record of customer success and the most useful partner ecosystem.

Create a Secure, High-Availability Primary Storage Solution on AWS

Create a Secure, High-Availability Primary Storage Solution on AWS

Cloud Storage Data Center - AWS

Create a Secure, High-Availability Primary Storage Solution on AWS

By leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS) primary storage solutions, organizations can store business-critical data on AWS in a secure, durable, high-performance environment. Primary storage solutions enable you to run the same products you use on-premises but on AWS with identical feature sets, capitalizing on all the inherent advantages that AWS provides, including high availability.

Our Recommended Primary Storage Services via AWS:

AMAZON ELASTIC COMPUTE CLOUD (AMAZON EC2)
An AWS service designed to provide secure, resizable compute capacity on the cloud, ideal for developers that require cost-efficient, reliable, and easily scalable compute capacity

AMAZON ELASTIC BLOCK STORE (AMAZON EBS)
Elastic block storage meant for data that changes relatively frequently and needs to persist beyond the life of an Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instance

AMAZON SIMPLE STORAGE SERVICE (AMAZON S3)
Reliable, durable primary object storage designed to store and access any type of data from anywhere on the web. Available for use as primary storage or in an S3 Standard – Infrequent Access model for colder data

AWS STORAGE GATEWAY
Hybrid cloud storage service with local integration, providing a multi-protocol storage appliance with all data persistent in Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3)

Advantages of Leveraging AWS and Sycomp for implementing your Primary Storage Solution

    • AN EASY ON-RAMP TO A HYBRID PRIMARY STORAGE SOLUTION AWS – and Sycomp solutions help organizations take advantage of the cloud without re-architecting applications.
    • LOWER CAPEX INVESTMENTS – Storage on AWS becomes an operating expense, and reduces the need for local infrastructure, investments, and time-consuming optimizations. Ease of scalability allows you to avoid over-provisioning storage up front, eliminate recurring upgrade cycles and paying for under-utilized assets.
    • DATA SECURITY AND DURABILITY – APN Partner solutions offer features, including security elements, which allow customers to achieve compliance with the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HPIAA) and other compliance requirements quickly. These solutions leverage Amazon S3, which is designed for 99.999999999% durability and store data for millions of applications used by every industry.
